Q + A

Can I bring someone with me?

We’re so excited to celebrate with each of you! Due to space and planning, not everyone has a plus one. If you received a plus one, your invitation will say “[Your Name] and Guest" or double check the RSVP on the website. If you’re unsure or have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we wish we could invite all our guests' children, we've decided to make our big day an adults-only event. We know this may require some extra planning on your part. We're incredibly grateful for your understanding and support.

When is the deadline to RSVP?

To help us plan accordingly, please RSVP by July 31.

What airport should I fly into?

Fly into Oaxaca Airport (OAX), Xoxocotlán Airport. It's a fairly small airport, so it's simple to navigate upon exiting customs. There are a few options to get to the city center from the airport. By car/taxi takes 20-25 minutes. There are official taxis right outside the terminal. If you're staying at a hotel, you may ask if they have shuttle service available.

Do I need a passport?

Yes! If you're traveling by airplane please make sure to have a valid passport book. Make sure your passport is valid at least through April 2026. Some airlines will not allow passengers to board if their passport is not valid for at least six months after their trip.

Does Uber operate in Oaxaca?

No, but you can use local taxis. They are reliable! Tourists and locals alike ride in them comfortably. If you like your driver, you can ask for their number for future rides. Feel free to reach out to us if any questions!

Where should I book accommodations?

Check out the travel and accommodations section for hotels where we've coordinated discounted rates. Our pro-tip is to book with Airbnbs! They are more affordable and provide a richer cultural experience.

What will the weather be like?

In early October, Oaxaca has warm days and cool nights. There may be some rain but usually not all day. We'll keep you updated as the big day gets closer.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony will be indoors while the reception will be outdoors.

Are you having a calenda?

Yes we are! A calenda is a traditional street parade that happens during weddings (or any celebration) in Oaxaca and features music, "monos" that look like the couple, dancers, and lots of energy. Check out this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/1kag_iLA82k?si=TIfb9IyZsLOi9Wzp

What should I wear?

Join us in celebrating with attire that blends dressy casual and cocktail style, inspired by the vibrant spirit of Oaxaca. Think colorful, breathable fabrics, embroidered details, and festive flair. We want you to feel comfortable, festive, and ready to party-stylish but not too formal -----Footwear: There will be a calenda. This means guests will walk in our parade from Santo Domingo church to the reception. Oaxaca can have cobblestone streets. For this reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels may be a little tricky. But DO YOU or bring something you can walk in.
